Antoine Bourdelle was a French expressionist sculptor and a talented student of Auguste Rodin (At the age of 24 he won a scholarship to the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris). Hercules the Archer is one of its most famous sculptures - Achieved in 1909. It is a magnificent modern rendition of the labor of Hercules in which he killed the Symphronian Birds with his bow.
